The Africa Assurance Innovation and Digital team at EY is seeking a talented Junior Software Developer to assist in building tailored digital and innovative solutions for the Assurance business. These solutions encompass smart technologies like RPA, SharePoint, ML, AI, and Data Analytics. The role involves the end-to-end design, development, testing, implementation, and support of solutions that enhance productivity, maximize efficiency, and mitigate risk for the business.

Responsibilities

Design, code, and implement scalable software solutions
Maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot existing systems
Test, maintain, and recommend software improvements for optimization
Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
Create technical and process documentation
Work with Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other developers to deliver projects
Provide post-implementation support and conduct root cause analysis of issues
Manage user access and permissions

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Programming, or Information Management
Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a software development role
Basic knowledge of software development life cycles, agile methodologies, software design, and testing
Experience developing workflow-based solutions or functionality
Experience developing and consuming APIs
Extensive knowledge of coding languages (eg, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, HTML5, CSS) and frameworks/systems (eg, AngularJS, REACT, Dot-NET, Git)
Basic knowledge and understanding of Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI)
General knowledge and experience working with databases (Relational and non-relational)
Ability to develop unit testing for code
Experience with web development technologies
Experience as a full-stack developer
Experience in analysing and visualising data in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or TIBCO Spotfire
Experience using the Microsoft 365 platform (Azure SQL, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, etc)
